Frustration

Posted on: October 14, 2015

So, I haven’t really updated in awhile. Sorry for that. If anyone reads this, anyway.

At the end of July, I moved from Hampton, VA to Virginia Beach. Much better environment, school system, everything. Joined the rec center with my daughter which is awesome. It’s really nice and has a nice gym and everything. I’ve had trouble getting motivated (story of my life). Still trying to lose weight. Got up to 212, now I’m back down to 208. Have so much farther to go. In total, I’ve lost 28 lbs. But that’s over a year and a half time frame. And I’ve been lower in between then and now. Like in September, I was down in the 180s. What’s wrong with me, I don’t know.

I’m finally motivated and ready to get out there and do the miles. I have a charity 5k coming up in a week and a half. Then I have the Harbor Lights 5k next month. And then I’m supposed to start training for the Shamrock Half Marathon in 5 months. So you’d think I’d be happy, right? Nope. My plantar fasciitis is acting up again. I can’t even walk, and yes, I said that correctly, WALK a mile without my foot hurting. So, tell me how I’m going to do 3.1 miles, not even running? I can’t start running because of my foot. And I want to be running the Harbor Lights 5k next month. So what do I do?

I’m going back to the foot doctor on Tuesday. I really hope he can give me some answers. I can’t live like this. It’s miserable. I want to get back out there and start running again, but I’m physically not able to.

A lot of the joint pain is related to the thyroid. Have you considered going gluten free? Or even more drastic, starting the Auto Immune Protocol diet? Read Root Cause by Izabella Wentz – http://www.thyroidpharmacist.com/. It explains what certain foods are problematic for people with thyroid issues and what to do about it. I no longer have leg pain and pretty much the only joint pain I still experience is my carpel tunnel when I spend an entire day doing data entry. I swear my body feels 10 or more years younger since I started the diet. Also lost 42 pounds in a year. I will say it’s hard and if you don’t have support, doubly so (I lost a relationship to it – but probably was inevitably doomed anyway since he didn’t support much of what I did). Just some thoughts if you’re ready.
